Antonio M. Percy, a leader of the Business Roundtable, says that employers’ costs for employee health care are unsustainable and that maintaining the status quo “would put millions of workers at risk” and “is simply not an option.”
An annual survey of employers by the Kaiser Family Foundation showed that many workers face a further erosion of benefits next year. Forty percent of employers surveyed said they are likely to increase workers’ co-pays for doctor visits; 8% said they plan to drop coverage entirely. And 41% said they are likely to increase what workers pay in premiums.
